I have been using the above Paydens pharmacy for around 6 years. I am a regular, monthly customer, with lots of medication to fill, and am disgusted at the level of service received over recent years. I have not complained before as I thought I may end up being treated even worse. But after today, I realised that your service and staff couldn’t get any worse. In no particular order, here are just some of the regular issues with this branch: • The staff are rude and talk to me as though I am some kind of pariah, yet I have never been anything but pleasant to them • I appreciate that when a pharmacist is away from the shop, that prescriptions cannot be dispensed. The lunch hours are 1.00-2.00pm. Several times I have gone in after 2.15pm and the pharmacist is “still out” and I am told to “come back”. • Other times when I try to collect medicines, the pharmacist is in a private room with another customer and I am unable to collect my medication. Am I meant to be a mind reader as to when the pharmacist will be out for an extended lunch or seeing clients in the private room? Yet again, I am told to wait or “come back” • I have the same medications every month, yet it is never just a case of going in to the shop and collecting the items. I am always owed something, necessitating frequent trips there and back and the evil stares of the staff as though I am some kind of inconvenience • Picking up monthly medications should not be many trips each time, just to get my medicines • There is a real lack of communication. One of my prescription medications is Lacrilube eye ointment which I need for severe dry eye. Firstly I was owed it, then after two months (yes, two months) of going back and forth, eventually I was told the product wasn’t being manufactured and to go and see my doctor. In the meantime I bought the product online, costing me around £60. Today was a typical example of just how lacking your service is: • I ordered my medications online from my doctor on 01.04.15 • On 07.04.15 I went in to collect my medicines (I always try and allow around a week for prescriptions to be filled based on past experiences) • I was given an ‘owing slip’, also dated 07.04.15. • I went in to the pharmacy earlier this week to collect my owed items. It was 2.20pm. I was told no drugs could be dispensed as the pharmacist was still out and to “come back” • I went back today. The prescription was there but not yet made up. I was told I could wait 20 minutes or “come back” • So, 10 days have passed since I got an owing slip and the prescription still isn’t ready. I dread getting my monthly medications. I work full time so have to try and get to the pharmacy during office hours. I imagine that in a typical month I go to the pharmacy (for just one set of my usual medications) five or six times. I hate it and resent having to give up my lunch times on such a regular basis. Your pharmacy gets paid for dispensing prescriptions, so it is not as if you are offering a free service to me. Yet I am treated like an inconvenience who has nothing better to do than to go to the pharmacy.
